Flu Jab
Pelican Pharmacy offers a Free Flu vaccination service if you are part of the eligible groups (refer to FAQ below). This seasonal service is funded by the NHS.
If you are not classed in the high-risk groups, you can take advantage of our private flu vaccination service.

FAQ
What are the eligible groups for free flu vaccine?
You are part of the eligible groups if you are either:
Over 65
Aged from 18 to 64 years of age with one of the following medical conditions:
Asthma or lung disease
Chronic heart disease
Chronic kidney disease at stage three, four or five
Chronic liver condition
Chronic neurological disease (such as Parkinson’s disease or motor neurone disease, or learning disability)
Diabetes
A weakened immune system due to disease (such as HIV/AIDS) or treatment (such as cancer treatment)
Asplenia or splenic dysfunction;
Morbid obesity
Above 18 and either:
Pregnant
Living in long-stay residential care homes or other long-stay care facilities
A carer
Household contacts of immunocompromised individuals
When can I get a flu jab?
Our seasonal flu vaccination service start from September to February every year.
Do I need a flu jab every year?
The virus that causes flu can change every year, so you need a vaccination that matches the new viruses each year. The vaccine usually provides protection for the duration of that year’s flu season.
