Yellow Fever

Further Information

A single dose provides long-lasting protection. It must be given at least 10 days before travel to meet entry requirements and ensure effective immunity.

Protects against yellow fever, a serious viral infection spread by mosquitoes in parts of Africa and South America.

Side effects: May include mild arm soreness, headache, muscle aches, or a low fever. These usually resolve within a few days.

Additional precautions: Many countries require proof of yellow fever vaccination for entry. Always keep your vaccination certificate safe and check travel requirements before you go.

Before your appointment: The vaccine can only be given at approved Yellow Fever Centres. Inform the clinician if you are pregnant, immunocompromised, or have had a previous reaction to vaccines.

Risks caused by yellow fever: Can cause high fever, jaundice, muscle pain, and in severe cases organ failure. The infection can be life-threatening without vaccination.
